If you are looking for simple and affordable coastal holiday tablescape ideas, you will relish in these 6 favorite holiday pointers.
I’m delighted to partner with Wayfair in this first post of a three-part holiday blog series, all from our home in Coastal Maine.
Join me for a November walk on the beach in Maine.
My 6+ Holiday Pointers for Coastal Tablescapes | Let’s Set the Table
1. Decorative Blue Placemats
The color blue is infamous in coastal decorating. Both the sea and the sky inspire us to bring pleasing shades of blue into our home decor.
Just take a walk with me on the beach in the above video if you need further encouragement:)
For today’s coastal holiday tablescape, I chose and started to set our table with these 4 of 6 Wayfair’s Handmade Audriana Cotton Placemats.
Don’t you love the blue and white floral design? They are so vibrant in color, yet still classic in their style. You will love them, I promise!
Whether you are setting your table for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hannukah, or New Year’s Eve, you can’t go wrong with adding blue touches to your coastal table’s foundation this holiday season.
2. Colorful Cloth Napkins
Next, I recommend investing in cloth table napkins.
Cloth napkins add warmth and style to a table setting, especially during the holidays. And you don’t have to spend a fortune to do this either.
I chose the Wauregan 20″ Cotton Napkins in gold also available from Wayfair. I love mixing the napkin’s checkered pattern with the floral design of the placemats.
And the gold really pops next to the holiday coastal blue color while also representing a popular color of the holidays.
3. Holiday Coastal Tablescape Centerpiece
Have I got a treat for you? You are going to fall in love with this Driftwood Cornucopia from Wayfair.
I gasped when I took it out of the box!
Oh my gosh, have you seen anything more perfect for a holiday coastal tablescape? From Thanksgiving to Christmas, this driftwood cornucopia dazzles any coastal-style table.
This driftwood cornucopia is certainly hardy and comes in two different sizes. This is the smaller of the two sizes.
I think I may decorate with mine year-round, moving it around from room to room…
4. Blue Hydrangeas ~ Yes Hydrangeas for Coastal Holidays!
If you live on or around the coast, I am almost certain you love blue hydrangeas, as I do.
Am I right?
Why not add your favorite hydrangeas to your holiday tablescapes?
I invested in these faux blue hydrangeas available from Wayfair for my year-round bouquets.
How about adding these faux hydrangeas to the driftwood cornucopia?
You could also add holiday greenery, pinecones, sand dollars, beach stones, blue mussels, etc…

Here I added a little rustic coastal tablescape charm by adding 3 vintage blue books topped with a basket of sand dollars.
I loved this basket of blue hydrangeas from last summer when Country Sampler Magazine came to photograph our home. And it was heartbreaking to see them fade at summer’s end.
That’s when I vowed to invest in some faux blue hydrangeas to have in my home year-round.

5. Blue and White Dinnerware Set
With blue and white being such a time-honored tradition in coastal design why not invest in some blue and white dinnerware for this year’s holiday coastal tablescapes?
For this year’s holiday table at our home here in Coastal Maine, I chose Wayfair’s Talia 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, as I have always loved the hardy and creative spirit of pottery.
I can’t describe this set any better than how Wayfair describes it here:
“Sophisticated and rustic, polished and natural, the Talia Dusk dinnerware collection is a delight to the eye and the touch alike. The delicate blue reactive glaze shows off the texture of the stoneware, while the subtle swirl strengthens the earthy elegance that sets this collection apart from any other. The bare stoneware at the base of the pieces completes the satisfying organic feel of the set. This is the ideal dinnerware for a casual evening at home or entertaining guests.”
6. 3 Piece Wood Tree Figurines
These 3 wood tree figurines are absolutely adorable. You can use decorative pieces on your tablescapes, mantels, coffee tables, and just about anywhere you please.
Also available from Wayfair.
And I added a couple of little tins filled with locally collected beach rocks.
