What do baby shoes, a cobbler rack, and a watercolor have in common? 3 vintage goods that I found at yard sales this weekend.
3 Thrifted Memorial Day Weekend Finds
What do these 3 things have in common?
They are 3 vintage goods that I found at estate sales and yard sales this past Memorial Day weekend.
And I couldn’t wait to share them with you.
Did you have a nice Memorial Day weekend?
The weather here in New England was truly out of this world!
Ok, let’s chat more about these shoes, racks, and art, shall we?
Adidas Baby Shoes
Inspired by Miss Mustard Seed’s baby shoe collection, these baby Adidas shoes with the little shoe stretchers still inside were too much to resist.
I have no idea how old these baby shoes are, but from their look and feel, they have spent a long time making someone very happy. Did a baby take their first steps in these baby shoes? Were they handed down a generation? And where, oh where, did they find the little shoe stretchers inside of each sneaker?
And this pair of baby shoes was just $12 at a weekend estate sale I stopped in to visit.
I think these little baby Adidas sneakers will be the first in my vintage baby shoe collection.
They look super cute resting on our bookshelves in the living room.
Can you envision a shelf filled with a collection of various vintage baby shoes? Especially in a bedroom.
Vintage Cobbler Rack
I am so grateful for my friends who look out for me! Do you have a few like this?
Let me explain a bit,
They are both named Lisa and were both out doing a little thrifting themselves this past Memorial Day weekend.
The first texts started coming from my girlfriend, Lisa, in Maine, who was out thrifting at what looked to be an amazing antique yard sale. I missed out on this one! She sent me pictures of garden boxes, kitchen scales, scissor holders, etc., and told me she would pick up anything that caught my eye.
Lisa brought home that red garden box in the middle for herself. Great find, for sure!
Second, back in Vermont, it was a text and a call from the owner, Lisa of The Vintage Soul, where I have my vintage window booth. Lisa had spied on two vintage cobbler racks at an estate sale just out of town. And she was highly recommending that I get over there to purchase one, if not both, haha.

Succumbing to peer pressure, I headed over to this estate sale the very next morning.
There was the large cobbler rack that Lisa had already talked down to $120 for me. And it was a beauty!
But that petite cobbler rack on the left above —well, it would be the perfect accessory in our breakfast nook, holding all my collected dishes and bowls.
This one took a little more convincing, though, as the owner had decided he wanted to keep this one for himself.
But we won him over in the end; Ella hopped in the front seat, and we transported her back home, along with the little Adidas baby shoes.

Farmer’s Market
On our way home, we took a quick detour at the local farmer’s market to pick up some peonies to fancy for the rest of the Memorial Day weekend.

Neutral Ski Drawings
Do you enjoy stopping at yard, tag, and garage sales?
I’m one of those who drives by really slowly at first to see if it’s worth stopping.
I’m looking for bargains and quality vintage items. So, I don’t tend to stop at many of them.
I drove by this new house (yes, a newly built home) that was selling a few selected items from an old ski house that they had had for years a few towns over.
And there was this watercolor ski drawing picture in a vintage wooden frame for $10.
It appears to be part of Laurence David’s limited edition series Ski. I haven’t been able to find this exact art print, but others like it are selling framed on rare-to-find vintage sites for between $250 and $600.
I was drawn to the blues and browns in this art print.
The original owner told me she had a whole collection and to keep driving by, as she’d be putting them out for sale at different times. So I may need to find a place for a few more…

Hi Ann! Thank you for sharing your amazing finds. Those shoes are amazing but what makes them really stand out are the shoe stretchers. I love them! I also love the ski painting. It is definitely unique. I don’t go to many yard sales because I work on the weekends. Sad but true. Thank you again for sharing
I’m so glad you like them Cheryl, aren’t those stretchers amazing? I agree. I’ve never seen them that small before. Thanks for dropping by today!
Hi Ann! You found some great items! Can’t wait to see the cobblers rack loaded up with your pretties! And I love the soft colors of the vintage print!
It’s all loaded up Molly, It’s so cute, I just love it! Thanks so much!
What great finds. Looking forward to seeing your cobblers rack styled with dishes. One must have lots of display spaces for all the things one loves 😏. The vintage ski pictures have my heart. Weird since I live in Florida and don’t ski. Just love the notion of it and apres ski, very chic and romantic. I have been on ski trips with family on Mt Aetna, Sicily before it erupted again and Mt Baker in the Cascades, WA State. Even took some lessons but didn’t help! A lifetime of water skiing just didn’t translate. I have a collection of family shoes. Have always been drawn to shoes and wooden shoe stretchers. Unbelievable that you found baby ones! Didn’t even know they existed. I will email photos of my collection if you’d like. Just love visiting your life on the blog.
Pamela, it sounds like we have a great deal in common. Vintage displays, shoes, and skiing decor. How fun. I can’t believe you skied out in Italy and more too. So envious. Thanks so much and I’d love to see your photos!
Those baby Adidas are so cute and everything is amazing! I thought they were all going to be in a Memorial Day vignette… Goes to show what I know. 😉 Always love your finds and how you work them into your beautiful home.
Aren’t they so cute Cindy? Well, I’m working on decorating with them all today. So stay tuned, I’m sure there will be a vignette or two coming, haha. Thanks for popping in today!
What fun, your new finds are great! I’m curious about your cute rug with your dog’s image, where did you get it?
Thank you Sally, that rug with the Bernese Mountain Dog on it is from Chandler 4 Corners, a local VT company, but it’s sold on Amazon too, here’s my affiliate link to it: https://bit.ly/3MJDXer
