My Thrifted Finds for Today’s Project
Thrifting with the Gals
It’s the third Thursday of the month, and that means it’s time for Thrifting with the Gals! The time when the gals and I get together to share our favorite monthly thrifted finds with you, along with a few tips and tricks in vintage home decorating.
Be sure to check out Lora, Rachel, and Robyn’s thrifted finds here today, too!
Vintage Pieces
When it comes to vintage decor, sometimes the most unexpected finds can transform your living space!
I stumbled upon two charming vintage wooden rental chairs while thrifting, and instead of using them as seating, I gave them a starring role on my wall.
Vintage Wall Art
With their rustic charm, the old folding chairs became the perfect backdrop for layering these—a pair of vintage wall decor pictures, framed colonial silhouettes, which I also found thrifting.
This playful mix added a touch of elegance and creativity to our dining room living space, proving that vintage pieces can be more than just decor—they can be delightful conversation starters!

Retro Wooden Chairs
These adorable retro wooden chairs bring a touch of nostalgia to any space!
I found this pair at a consignment shop for about a hundred dollars, and these petite folding oak beauties are stamped with “Miller’s Rental and Sales” from Ohio.
Can you see our Berner, Ella’s paws peaking through the chair?
The handwritten notes on the bottom make them even more charming, hinting at their rental history—imagine the stories they could tell!
Their lightweight design makes for effortless hanging, and they’re the perfect pieces to add character and history to my vintage wall decor.
These chairs prove that vintage finds are not just functional—they’re genuinely timeless!
The Hower House
I was told that Miller’s Rental & Sales out of Ohio used these vintage wooden folding chairs at the Hower House Museum for events.
Hower House was built by a leading industrialist in Akron, Ohio, and the Hower family lived there for more than a century. In the 1970s, the mansion was donated to the University of Akron and has been open as a museum for over 40 years.
What I found most interesting is that the museum puts a spotlight on the history of the three matriarchs of the Hower family and their lives as they traveled around the world in the late 1800s to early 1900s.
I feel so lucky to have found these two little treasures and be able to display them prominently as vintage wall decor in our home today.
Each vintage piece tells its own story!
Effortless Hanging Vintage Wall Decor
How to Hang Vintage Wall Decor Folding Chairs
Choose the side of the folding chair you want to showcase and nail the sawtooth hook onto the top of the opposite side.
Then secure a picture hook into your wall and hang the chair to create your new vintage wall decor.
In no time, you’ve got a unique finishing touch that’s as charming as it is effortless.
For my vintage wall decor chairs, I chose to display the backside of the chairs that exhibit the Hower House and Miller’s Rental & Sales emblems.
I especially like how all the details are visible this way, telling their unique story.

Vintage Artwork for the Finishing Touch
To complete the vintage wall decor look, I added two small thrifted vintage artwork pieces—wooden frames featuring black silhouettes of a man and a woman.
They’re the perfect pieces of vintage wall decor to accent the center of each vintage chair, bringing the entire wall to life.
Whether mixing them into gallery walls or pairing them with more abstract art, these timeless silhouettes add charm and a polished finishing touch to this vintage wall decor!

Christmas Gifts
Let me tell you, friends, these adorable small red-and-white snowflake Christmas gifts are the perfect little accents for vintage wall decor, too!
Framed in rustic wood and crafted by an independent artist on Etsy, they bring just the right pop of color to any space—bedroom, bathroom, entryway, you name it.
I’m styling mine in my hutch, right next to my thrifted wooden chairs hanging on the wall, and they’re stealing the show!
Honestly, they’d also make the sweetest Valentine’s or Galentine’s Day gifts for anyone who loves an eclectic vibe. What do you think—where would you display them?
And did you notice the bowl filled with the wooden spindle Christmas ornaments I shared before the holidays? They even look cute after Christmas displayed off the tree! See more in this 3 Decorative Wood Spindles Finials Holiday Craft Ideas post.
Maybe remove the blue ribbon and add pink for Valentine’s Day!
Vintage Decor
And that’s a wrap, friends!
These thrifted vintage chairs from the Hower House in Ohio have truly become the perfect pieces to anchor this unique vintage wall decor display, adding charm and character to our home.
Whether paired with your favorite artwork or styled simply on their own, they prove vintage decor can be both functional and fabulous.
