When I was little, I asked my parents to paint my room the color purple! They did, and I am still crushing on decorating with purple today! And when the first purple Lilacs bloom, I can’t wait to arrange them in every room. And boy, my jealousy kicks in when I see all my friends in the south posting photos of their amazing purple lilac bouquets, and we’re still over here in the North spring skiing… So, the day has finally arrived; the lilacs are blooming, and let’s get inspired with these gorgeous spring blooms.
Purple Lilac Bouquet Ideas
Purple lilacs can add a touch of beauty and elegance to any space. Here are some decorating ideas incorporating purple lilacs:
I may not have the lushest purple lilac bouquets, but that’s okay. I’ll take them any way I can! We have two bushes at our home here in Maine, but unfortunately, the soil on the coast just isn’t great for growing lilacs. However, they are still gorgeous blooms to decorate with.

Purple Lilac in the Sunroom
Italian Vase
Hanging out with our morning coffee in the sunroom is one of our favorite things. So, naturally, adding a spring bouquet enhances our time here. The scent of the lilacs radiates throughout the room.
A few years ago, I finished a sunroom makeover at our home in Vermont. These purple lilacs were magnificent that year, and I loved showcasing them in my first-ever room makeover here on the blog. Be sure to drop by for even more common lilac inspiration.
Vintage Champagne Bucket
Here, I switched out the purple lilac to an old thrifted champagne bucket that I found thrifting for just $8.00 while Ella, our Bernese Mountain Dog, patiently awaited her dinner…
Coffee Table Blooms
In the living room, I added purple lilac to one of my mother’s vintage crocks and decorated the antique butter churn and coffee table, which has been in our family for decades.

Bathroom Bouquet
Do you ever think of displaying flowers in your bathroom? These spring blooms are a beautiful addition to our master bathroom, on top of a cabinet that my father made years ago.
Surrounding this purple spring flower arrangement on the cupboard are antique mustache cups. Have you heard of them? They were designed to keep one’s mustache dry when drinking coffee or tea. I always think it’s so funny how feminine they were made. These are my mother’s collections. I also found this antique sterling silver baby’s brush, which was mine as a child.

Small vintage tin jars filled with potpourri sit on the windowsill. My mother styled them there, and I adore them to this day.
