Antique Amethyst Glassware

Antique amethyst glassware refers to vintage glass items made from amethyst-colored glass. Amethyst glass is a type of colored glass with a deep purple hue, resembling the color of amethyst gemstones. Amethyst glassware became popular during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It was often used for decorative purposes, such as vases, bowls, pitchers, and other tableware items.

Collectors and enthusiasts of antique glassware often seek out amethyst glass pieces for their unique color and historical significance. The deep purple hue of amethyst glass can add a touch of elegance and sophistication to any home decor. Additionally, the rarity and age of antique amethyst glassware can make it a valuable and sought-after collector’s item.

If you are interested in acquiring antique amethyst glassware, you can explore antique shops, estate sales, online marketplaces, and specialized glassware auctions. It’s important to carefully examine the condition and authenticity of the glassware before making a purchase, as there may be reproductions or damaged pieces in circulation.

As I quickly discovered…

Antique Amethyst Glassware For Sale

I rarely see amethyst glassware in my antiquing or thrifting adventures, so when I saw what I thought was antique amethyst glassware, I snatched these 6 hidden gems for just $24.

Is it amethyst, lavender, or purple?

Hmmm, I wonder if they are wine glasses or water goblets?

But you know what? Once I got home and looked up the antique amethyst glassware online, I realized quickly that they were not antique! You could have fooled me!

I also found this cute wire basket with sand dollars. These went for $24, which I thought was a bit high, but there was so much I could do with them, so they also came home with me.

Walkers of Maine is a restaurant just down the road from us in Maine. I love the various vintage glassware they serve their refreshments in. Once, I swear I was drinking from a glass right out of the TV show The Partridge Family with all its colored patterns!

Do you know of any restaurants around you that use retro glassware for their patrons?
