As I type this blog post for you today, friends, it’s late February in Vermont, 14 degrees, and the sun is shining bright. And with that, I am determined to add some spring antique collectibles to my built-in bookshelves in our main living area. Therefore, yesterday, I headed out to the closest Antique mall, Stonehouse Antique Center in Chester, Vermont, to hunt for some antique transferware and ironstone collectibles.
I have been dreaming of lighter touches like soft blues, white Ironstone, platters, glassware, patterns, and more. I found 10 antique collectibles yesterday that I want to share with you here today, all for under $100. I am so excited to redecorate our built-ins with these beautiful new pieces and add the spring touches I’m yearning for. That will be the next blog post, friends, so I hope you keep following along!
First up are these 4 beautiful blue and white Transferware teacups that I purchased for $9.
I love how soft and sweet they look, and they have a bit of a different shape to them, too.
Second, I found this Ironstone soup crock that I will display on the built-ins and most likely also use in our kitchen as well. This piece was $40 plus a 25% discount, which was the most expensive antique collectible of the day.
An antique blue bottle for $3 adds to that light blue color theme that I was going for, too.
I also found a couple of white porcelain roosters for $10 apiece. Perfect for our Vermont shelving.
This large blue and white transferware bowl was a bargain at $10!!
Friends, the reason I’m sharing the pricing with you on this post today is that I often get inquiries on how much one should spend while antiquing. I do believe this is completely up to the person shopping. However, you don’t need to spend over $40 to get a nice piece of antique Transferware or Ironstone. Most antique shops are filled with these items, and they can vary in price depending on the vendor.
