As Columbus Day | Indigenous Peoples’ Day weekend winds down and Vermont Vintage Market Days comes to an end, I sit here on our porch in Vermont and admire the vintage October blue dishes that I thrifted over this past weekend.
I’m calling them my “October Blues”! Check out more of this weekend’s Vermont Vintage Market Day adventures here.
Why Vintage Blue in Fall Decor?
Incorporating vintage blue into your fall decor is a unique and stylish way to elevate your seasonal design.
The soft, calming tones of vintage blue provide a stunning contrast to the warm, earthy colors typically associated with autumn.
Whether through tableware, linens, or accent pieces, this hue can create a refined and unexpected twist to your fall tablescapes, blending seamlessly with natural elements like pumpkins, leaves, and candles.
For those looking to add sophistication and charm to their autumn gatherings, vintage blue is the perfect choice for a timeless and cozy atmosphere.
Lynton | England Vintage Blue Dinnerware
These “October Blues” are made by Lynton | England. I have searched the internet for these without much luck. If you know more about these beautiful dishes, please drop me a comment below!
The set is romantically worn, with an off-brown overtone and china dimples. It is an odd set of 7 dishes, 35 dishes in total. I paid $100 for the entire set.
Autumn has been amazing here in Vermont this year. It has been so much warmer than usual, which has us spending all our time outdoors before the harshness of winter sets in.
Therefore, it made perfect sense for these “October Blue” dishes to debut on our second-hand wallpaper table outside on the porch.

Vintage Blue and Green
After visiting the Fleurish Home and Garden booth this past weekend at Vermont Vintage Market Days, I wanted to add green touches with these vintage threaded spools.
Blues and greens are my go-to colors for redecorating this porch, and they are a wonderful combination. More on that is coming this winter.

Don’t you love the moody fall mornings?
It has been so warm here in Vermont this autumn that almost every morning, we have been graced with low mountain cloud coverage along with this fog. It’s absolutely beautiful with the changing leaves.
Love, love, love this bistro-style chalkboard that I also thrifted over the summer in Maine. And, of course, our Bernese Mountain Dog, Ella, with her classic head tilt for the camera…

Your table is gorgeous Ann, especially being outdoors with the fabulous fall views. I’m in love with your blue and white dishes.
We are thinking alike, I was just over on your blog too:)
Hi Ann! Your enthusiasm for your new English/Lynton dishes is easy to catch. It put me in a bit of a sleuthing mood myself. I ended up contacting 3 different antique specialists in blue and white dishes. They are all in England. (I hope you don’t mind, but I cropped two of your table setting photos to send to the experts”. The first one said he had no clue. The second said it was difficult due to lack of stamp or name identifier, but that it was Staffordshire c.1910. The third person had the answer with the most information.
“ Hello
There were many patterns produced over the late 1800s and first part of the 1900s., often for export and the maker did not consider it worth adding their name. Very difficult to identify maker in those circumstances.“
Do you have a receipt or remember the dealer you purchased these from? You could contact them and find out where he/she found them, and then contact that dealer, and follow it back as far as you can. You may get lucky and find some more! That’s the best solution I have right now. Wish I could have come up with the magic answer!
